Editorial Policies
The Academic and Scientific Journal in Social Sciences - Sociohumanities is committed to international standards of scientific publication. To this end, the guidelines of the 2nd World Conference on Research Integrity, Singapore, July 22-24, 2010, are followed:

Responsibilities of the editor
- Editors are responsible for the process of selecting and publishing articles.
- Editors must be impartial in the selection of peer reviewers.
- Editors must adopt editorial policies that promote transparency.
- Editors undertake to keep authors informed of the selection process and the results of evaluations.
- Editors must protect the integrity of the documents and make any necessary corrections and retractions.
- Editors undertake to promote good editorial practices.
- Editors must provide all the information necessary for reviewers and authors to carry out their work successfully.
- Editors must have clear procedures to resolve conflicts of interest.
- Editors must verify the authorship of articles and reject those that are due to plagiarism, manipulation of citations, fabrication of data or any other bad practice.
- Editors undertake to promote the exchange of ideas, respect for opinions and guarantee freedom of opinion and expression during the processes of calling for, selecting, evaluating and publishing their content.
- Editors must ensure that writings do not contain false or slanderous information against an individual or a group of individuals or organizations. Any such statement must be brought to the attention of the Legal Office of Sociohumanidades y Ediciencias for verification.
- Authors' responsibilities:
- The research must be carried out in compliance with ethical standards and in accordance with current regulations governing the responsible management of copyright.
- Researchers must present their results clearly, honestly, and without falsification or improper manipulation of data.
- Researchers must comply with the publication requirements requested by the journal, guaranteeing their originality, non-simultaneous publication in other media, and avoiding plagiarism or other bad practices.
- Authors must assume responsibility for the results presented and published.
- Authorship must accurately reflect the contributions of the parties involved.
- Sources of funding and relevant conflicts of interest must be indicated in the first footnote of the document.
Peer review process
- The journal will implement a content review procedure by selecting a group of expert peers who will verify the high academic and scientific quality of the articles submitted for consideration.
- The journal informs and instructs academic peers about the causes of conflict of interest, according to the parameters established by the official body that regulates the subject, as well as about the conduct that constitutes bad practices, so that they are able to identify them.
- Both the invitation email and the evaluation form for writings include detailed instructions for peers on how they should complete and present their opinions.
- Editorial Committee
- The Editor and Editorial Committee of the Journal are the governing body of the publication. The members of this Committee will be recognized experts in the area of knowledge of the Journal and will know in detail the procedures of good practices that the Publication promotes.
- The profiles of the members of the Committee and their contact information are made available to the public on the Journal's website.
Anti-plagiarism policy
The Journal always verifies the originality of the texts received using the Turnitin tool. By sending your text, the author agrees that the document will be examined in order to avoid plagiarism and thus promote academic integrity.
The Editorial Committee will take all reasonable measures to identify and prevent the publication of works where bad practice has occurred, such as plagiarism, improper citation, data falsification, among others. If plagiarism or other bad practice is found, the article will be rejected. If plagiarism occurs after publication, the appropriate retraction or correction will be made.

Once the possible existence of a bad practice has been verified, the inclusion of the writing in the editorial process of the Journal issue is suspended. In order to guarantee the right to contest, the author will be informed so that he or she may comment on the facts. To do so, he or she will have a period of 10 working days. In the absence of a response or, once the author's explanations have been received, it will be up to the editor to make a decision. The editor's decision can be appealed before the Editorial Committee of the Journal.
Copyright
The Journal requires that the authors authorize, through a license of use, the edition, publication, reproduction, distribution and public communication of the work of their authorship, both in physical and digital format, for exclusively scientific, cultural, dissemination and non-profit purposes.
The authors retain the copyright and guarantee the journal the right to be the first publication of the work, which will be licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution - Non-Commercial-Share Alike. The reproduction of documents in other printed and/or electronic media must include an acknowledgement of the authorship of the work and its initial publication, as stipulated in the license.

The journal will make the names of the members of the Editorial Committee and the contact information of the editorial team available to the public.

Ownership and management
The Journal is financed and powered by the Editorial de las Ciencias - Ediciencias' own resources, and will publish this information on its website.
Website
The editorial team of the journal will ensure that the content hosted on its website meets the highest ethical and professional standards. The objective and scope of the journal are detailed, as well as the audience to which the Publication is directed.
The information for authors of the Journal expressly states that the research content is subject to evaluation by academic peers. Therefore, information that misleads its readers and/or authors will not be included.
Journal name
The name of the journal must be included in a visible place on the website and must not cause confusion among authors and readers. The ISSN and all necessary information must always be included so that it does not lead to confusion with other publications.
Conflict of interest
The journal will use as a guide to conflicts of interest the official documents issued by the Science, Technology and Innovation bodies; regional, national and international. This guide will be in place to avoid possible conflicts of interest that may arise between editors, authors and peer reviewers.
Advertising
The journal will only include advertisements and/or academic advertising. Notices of another nature will not be included.
Open access
Open access to the contents of the journal will be privileged, using the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike license
The Journal is free to consult and subscribe to, since it does not generate any fees or compensation for readers.
Costs of submission and publication of articles
The submission and publication of articles in the journal will generate a cost for the authors for maintenance and editorial expenses.
Publication schedule
The journal will include on its website the calls for the next issues and its annual editorial schedule.
Archive
The journal will have an electronic backup for the preservation of editorial content.
Confidentiality
All necessary measures will be implemented to guarantee that the contents of the articles are confidential throughout the process prior to publication. The editor will maintain the confidentiality of the articles submitted to the peer review process and will not reveal the information to third parties.
Ethics committees
The editor or the members of the Editorial Committee may request the opinion of the Ethics Committee of the Publisher (Ediciencias) or the journal (Sociohumanidades) for cases that justify it.
